Too busy to find the time....

We had discussed Insurance arrangements with a very successful mid size local concern a number of times in recent years but had never proceeded to quote or put forward an offering.

The reasons were:

• That the principal in effect was too sucessful/busy to take part in a full programme review
• He had been with his current advisers for many years and trusted them to 'do him right'
• He felt all Brokers went to the same suppliers, so whilst there may be a slightly sharper pen it would not justify the time that would have to be spent.

To counteract the 'cycle' this prospect was in, Bell & Co initiated the following:-

•  An earlier than usual renewal meeting to give the exercise strong structure
• The offer to the busy managing director to spend time with his staff getting as much background information as possible saving him time and only bringing him in at the point of verification.
• The offer/plan to train other staff, on appointment as brokers to avoid the spiral of time the Principal was in
• As there seemed little link between the Company's Health & Safety and Insurance the offer of an appointment was made to provide 2 days free consultancy from Bells Safety Solutions to thoroughly review this aspect of the clients business.

The result....................

In premium terms we saved the client 40% by using our market leverage/buying power and broking skills .

We were able to make certain cover improvements and remove quite a few outdated policy warranties and endorsements as in effect, the previous agents had it seemed not been to market at appropriate intervals, maybe displaying complacency due to to the Managing Director's lack of time.

We are currently delivering our Insurance Training and Health & Safety visits to a very happy client.
